Maria-Gabriela Bolanos
School Director
Maria-Gabriela Bolanos (Gabby) is a mission oriented Early Childhood Educator and Leader. She moved to New York City from her native Ecuador, South America, 20 years ago. Gabby has a master’s degree in early childhood education from CUNY-Hunter College and a master’s degree in progressive leadership from Bank Street College of Education.
During her 15-year career in Education, she has worked at diverse socioeconomic, educational, and cultural settings. Some of these experiences include work with research based, child centered and emerging curriculums, as well as a broad range of teaching philosophies; from Montessorian, play-based, and Reggio-Emilia to more structured and academically rigorous approaches. Her experience and expertise allow her to support educational teams in an innovative way. Gabby believes in creating a thriving, warm and welcoming environment where children, families and educators can reach their full potential.
In her spare time Gabby enjoys spending time with her family, reading and listening to music. She also loves visiting New York City’s Museums and walking by the Hudson River.
